Strawberry Picking Season is upon us; Late April to the beginning of June
Throw on a hat, put on all the sunscreen, tie up those sneakers and let's take a tour of the TOP 5 NC farms that offer bright red and super delicious strawberries

First stop: Hunt’s Strawberries 4505 Watkins Rd Raleigh
(919) 266-1619
This is a ‘Pick your own’ and you pick farm.  They have a 5 star rating on google but  people say there is no shade so be careful on a hot day! Also, looks like April 24th will be the day they open but please check before heading that way

Second stop: Page Farms 6100 Mt. Herman Rd
Raleigh

This is a ‘pick your own’  or ‘we pick’ farm. They state that April 25th will be their opening day but please check back, they want to make sure the strawberries are ripe for you to pick. Come on out to the farm and experience what a real working farm is all about.  Learn about the land, the people, and the crops grown  right here in the heart of North Carolina.  They are located right in the center of the Raleigh-Durham area in the midst of an ever growing city.

Third stop: Pope’s Strawberry Farm 1305 Fayetteville St.
Knightdale
We like this farm’s strawberry logo..cutest ever, but besides that they keep all their updates on facebook to make it easy for families to check. It looks like April 20-25th will be the opening dates but please stay connected to them on Facebook to find out for sure.

Fourth Stop: Porter Farms and Nursery (2 Locations below)

Check out what their website had to say and I am a  big fan  of this farm because it’s woman owned!
Local food is fresher and tastes better. North Carolina farmers offer produce varieties bred for taste and freshness. Getting to know the farmers who grow your food in the Raleigh area builds relationships based on understanding and trust - the foundation of strong communities. In fact, you'll have just that opportunity at Porter Farms. When you visit our retail roadside stand or pick strawberries in our fields, it is very likely you'll meet owner and farmer Ashley Porter. We look forward to your visit.
